INCI name
Acetyl Heptapeptide-9
Identifier
CIG-11
Origin
Synthetic
An active peptide in Golden Collagenine complex. Acetyl Heptapeptide-9 mimics the TGFβ (Transforming Growth Factor beta), a cytokine that plays an essential role in skin recovery, wound healing, and immune defense.
Acetyl Heptapeptide-9 affects skin fibroblasts, stimulating collagen, elastin, and other ECM components production. In addition, it enhances dermal cells metabolism, exposing a rejuvenated, firmer, and smoother appearance.
In vivo tests with this peptide showed a 55% reduction in wrinkles and deep creases.
Note: In the newer version of Golden Collagenine, the complex contains Dipeptide-70 Hydroxyprolyl Tetrapeptide-106 Amidoethoxy Ethoxyacetic Acid, a modified peptide derivative of Acetyl Heptapeptide-9.As the complex contains colloidal gold, it has been banned in the EU until additional safety tests are available to assess the evidence supporting safe use of gold particles of a particular size in topical applications.
