INCI nameSh-Polypeptide-4
sh-Polypeptide-4 is a synthetic recombinant analog of human SCF (Stem Cell Factor, Mast Cell Growth Factor, or Kit ligand), a peptide of up to 273 amino acids. It is a cytokine that controls the survival, growth, and differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells.
SCF affects the healing system by activating hematopoietic precursor cells, thereby promoting the repair of cells and tissue. Besides, its expression has also been detected in human keratinocytes in the skin. Moreover, the Stem cell factor is expressed along the migratory routes of melanocytes, allowing a cell to deploy to the proper developmental sites.
sh-Polypeptide-4 restores granulation sphere decline symptoms more rapidly when combined with other cytokines, as this increases the efficiency of hematopoietic cells or keratinocytes and improves the formation of organisms and the delivery of nutritional materials. In addition, studies confirm its chemotactic and mitogen effects on melanocytes, suggesting it as a repigmenting agent for skin and hair care applications.
Scientific tests showed that in the case of Androgenetic alopecia, hair follicle cells secreted 66% less SCF than non-balding cells. sh-Polypeptide-4 promotes hair growth, improving the movement and differentiation of melanin generation factor and the creation of hair growth factor.
