sh-Polypeptide-28

Besides lactation, human Prolactin is a hormone that regulates hair follicle cycles, angiogenesis, keratinocyte proliferation, and the activity of epithelial stem cells. A study has shown that Prolactin suppresses wound healing (epidermal regeneration) but, on the other hand, promotes keratinocyte terminal differentiation, thereby controlling excessive reepithelialization.

sh-Polypeptide-28 is a synthetic recombinant human prolactin hormone analog peptide composed of 199 amino acids. Applied topically, Prolactin leaves multiple beneficial effects on the skin, including:

  • Increases epidermal thickness
  • Suppresses skin inflammation
  • Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Lessens melanin production.

Sh-Polypeptide-28 is an effective ingredient used in skin care applications for repairing UV-damaged skin, reducing wrinkles, and skin whitening.

According to the manufacturer, following a 12-week clinical trial evaluating a daily cream containing 2% sh-Polypeptide-28, dermatologists conducted visual assessments of the outcomes. The results showed statistically significant anti-wrinkle effects (p < 0.05), specifically attributable to the application of sh-Polypeptide-28.
