sh-Oligopeptide-4

sh-Oligopeptide-4 is a synthetic recombinant Thymosin-β4 peptide that helps strengthen hair while stimulating hair follicles to produce healthier hair. Endogenous Thymosin beta-4 (initially identified in cow thymus in 1981; consisting of 44 amino acids) is an essential protein that regulates cell migration and differentiation, playing a crucial role in wound healing, regeneration, and angiogenesis. However, it is biologically unstable.

A synthetic analog of Thymosin-β4 is more stable and exhibits superior activity, as well as excellent skin permeation, thanks to its low molecular weight. It increases energy at the hair roots, improves scalp circulation, and encourages hair growth. Additionally, sh-Oligopeptide-4 stimulates collagen deposition in the wound and accelerates recovery.

Applied topically, sh-Oligopeptide-4 improves skin condition, smooths wrinkles, and enhances skin elasticity, exhibiting a noticeable anti-aging effect. Additionally, it enhances the skin's moisture content and helps combat dark spots and acne.

sh-Oligopeptide-4 promotes hair growth, stimulating follicle stem cell growth, migration, differentiation, and protease production. A critical step in the hair growth cycle is the movement of some bulge-residing stem cells downward, where their differentiated progeny contribute to the complete regeneration of the lower, cycling portion of the follicle. sh-Oligopeptide-4 facilitates this movement of the stem cells and their immediate progeny and, thus, exerts its promoting effect on hair growth.
