MatriGold® is a complex containing a matrikine peptide, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4, fused with colloidal gold particles. Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4 is a lipopeptide marketed under the trade name Matrixyl™ and was the first in the matrikines range.
According to the manufacturer's claim, only Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4 promotes the production of collagens I and III. At the same time, MatriGold® also increases collagen IV synthesis by 130%, reinforcing the dermal-epidermal junction and smoothing fine lines, which are the first signs of aging.
Thanks to gold nanoparticles, the complex exhibits enhanced skin permeation and resistance to enzymatic breakdown. In manufacturer-conducted tests, MatriGold® demonstrated good performance and effectiveness at a 0.3% concentration, thanks to an innovative delivery method for Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4.
Clinical studies with a preparation containing 0.3% MatriGold® showed reductions in fine lines and wrinkles of up to 30% and long-term results (8 weeks) of up to 50%. Participants report improvements in skin smoothness and a more youthful appearance of the eye area.
