Delisens™ is a peptide-based complex ingredient widely used in personal care products with soothing, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, and hydrating effects. The active ingredient is a hexapeptide (Acetyl hexapeptide-49 with the sequence: Ac-Phe-Phe-Trp-Phe-His-Val-OH; Ac-FFWFHV) that reduces the activity of a receptor (Proteinase-activated receptor 2 or PAR-2) up to 80%.

PAR-2 is located on skin mast cells and is responsible for the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-6 and IL-8. So, Acetyl hexapeptide-49 reduces the inflammatory response and allergic reactions in the skin, lessening pro-inflammatory cytokines production (IL-6 up to 69.6% and IL-8 - 71.5%).

In addition, Acetyl hexapeptide-49 restores skin barrier function and lessens the stinging sensation and itching induced by other ingredients in the formula. It instantly soothes the skin and is effective even after concentrated AHA treatments.

Delisens™ also exhibits strong skin-hydrating properties, reducing transdermal moisture loss and promoting a smoother, suppler, healthier appearance. Thanks to its photoprotective effect, Acetyl hexapeptide-49 enhances the viability of skin cells after UV exposure. Moreover, it boosts cell proliferation, restoring tissue integrity.
