Hexyl 3-Glyceryl Ascorbate is a vitamin C derivative, a modified 3-Glyceryl Ascorbate with attached alkyl (hexyl) groupe. It exhibits a noticeable skin-lightening action with an excellent inhibitory effect on melanin production, which is top-class among cosmetic active agents.

Hexyl 3-Glyceryl Ascorbate is suitable for formulation in luxury cosmetics specialized in skin-lightening effects. Evaluation of this ingredient on 3D skin models showed 22% suppression of melanin production.

Ascorbic acid can be easily destroyed by oxidation and has been made more stable by derivatizing it with glycerin. Hexyl 3-Glyceryl Ascorbate is stable to oxidation and can be safely incorporated into cosmetics.

In addition to its inhibitory effect on melanin production and promotion of collagen production, Hexyl 3-glyceryl Ascorbate has a moisturizing effect and excellent usability. Another major feature is that it can be incorporated into lotions, transparent gel serums, creams, and other emulsions, making it versatile in terms of formulation.
