sh-Oligopeptide-78 is a synthetic recombinant 20 amino acid long, biomimetic peptide, with a sequence corresponding to a part of Type II Keratin, which repeats several times in that structural protein. It is known under the trade name K18Peptide™.

Type II Keratin is crucial in the skin, hair, and nails, providing strength, resistance to mechanical stress, and maintaining integrity. sh-Oligopeptide-78 mimics hair’s structural protein and reconnects keratin polypeptide parts of damaged hair, forming strong disulfide bonds thanks to cysteine in its sequence.

Incorporated in hair care applications, sh-Oligopeptide-78 recovers hair keratin integrity after thermal and chemical damage (bleaching, coloring, etc), revealing a healthy, shiny, and beautiful hair appearance.
