Acetyl Hexapeptide-39 is a synthetic peptide with a sequence Ac-Ser-Ile-Tyr-Val-Ala-Thr-NH2 that acts as an antagonist of PGC-1α (Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-gamma coactivator) protein responsible for adipocyte differentiation and maturation.

PGC-1α stimulates adipogenesis - fatty tissue formation and increases the number of adipocytes (fatty cells) that are able to store lipids. So, PGC-1α is one of the most significant factors in obesity and cellulite development. Acetyl Hexapeptide-39 decreases PGC-1α levels, reducing fatty cell differentiation in white adipose tissue.

Acetyl Hexapeptide-39 remarkably reduces the thickness of the dermo-hypodermal junction, cellulite, and abnormalities (orange peel, irregular surface) in skin appearance. It is an excellent ingredient for anti-cellulite and slimming skin care applications.
