Acetyl Dipeptide-3 Aminohexanoate (sequence Ac-Arg-Ala-Ahx-OH), also known under the trade name Bodyfensine®, is a tripeptide that boosts the skin's natural peptidic protection against harmful microbes. It stimulates the production of peptides called defensins, which provide the skin's first line of antimicrobial protection.

Applied topically, Acetyl Dipeptide-3 Aminohexanoate enhances the expression of genes encoding two human beta-defensins (hBD-2 and hBD-3), increasing their production by keratinocytes by 26% and 10%, respectively. Increased levels of these ß-defensins improve the balance of beneficial and harmful bacteria on the skin, protecting it from acne and various infections and promoting a healthy, youthful, and stunning appearance.

Incorporated into skin and oral care applications, Acetyl Dipeptide-3 Aminohexanoate reinforces the body's natural barrier against microbial invasion, speeds wound healing and recovery, and improves appearance, especially noticeable on acne-prone skin.
