Historically, almonds were used to flavor foods, sweets, jams, cough syrups, and almond oil. It was also used for adorning the body and religious buildings and was carried during religious celebrations. Medieval civilizations believed that the almond possessed many beneficial qualities, including cleansing the body, strengthening health, and preventing intoxication by eating them while drinking. Additionally, Almond oil has been used in the manufacture of watches and other time-keeping devices.

Topically, almond oils and extracts, such as milk and liquids, are valued for their moisturizing abilities, especially on chapped hands and dry skin areas. They are also considered beneficial in removing spots and pimples from the skin. Additionally, ground almonds have been used in facial scrubs for exfoliation and gentle bleaching purposes.

Sweet Almond Oil is the fixed oil from the ripe seed kernel of Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis. Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil is an excellent general lubricating oil suitable for most skin types. It contains 62-86% oleic acid, 20-30% linoleic acid, and other valuable fatty acids, as well as being rich in beta-sitosterol, squalene, and vitamin E. It is insoluble in water and hardly soluble in alcohol.

Almond oil moisturizes, alleviates irritations, and rehydrates (particularly in the case of dry and sensitive skin), contains an exceptionally high amount of complex and simple unsaturated fatty acids, and numerous vitamins. It is similar to the skin's natural oils and, consequently, provides natural, gentle care.

Highly concentrated in Vitamin E, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil protects the skin against free radicals caused by UV exposure and helps reverse sun damage. Additionally, its fatty acids and retinoids accelerate skin cell turnover, allowing the skin to appear smooth, soft, and free from dark marks caused by acne and aging.

Rich in protein, a source of amino acids that act as natural moisturizing factors (NMF), Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis oil helps to smooth the skin, improving its water content, volume, and density. Sweet Almond Oil is often sought after for its high oleic and linoleic essential fatty acids.

Thanks to its antioxidant and antiangiogenic properties, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil is used in adjuvant therapies with multiple benefits for the skin. Numerous studies confirmed its anti-cancer activities, including inhibition of malignant cell proliferation and tumor angiogenesis.

Almond oil is used widely in the cosmetic industry for its penetrating, smoothing, softening, and moisturizing properties. It can also be used as a massage oil and is valued as a carrier oil when used with essential oils for aromatherapy. Additionally, almond extract can be used in various skin care products, including creams, lotions, toners, gels, moisturizers, and bath care products, particularly those formulated for dry or chapped skin.
