Acrylates/Beheneth-25 Methacrylate Copolymer

Acrylates/Beheneth-25 Methacrylate Copolymer is a high-efficiency polymeric thickener that contains a 22-carbon alkyl chain connected to the polymer backbone with a 25-mole ethylene oxide flexible extender. It dissolves readily in cold and warm water and can be cold-processed. The polymer becomes water soluble at pH 5-6 after neutralization with alkalis or organic amines, such as ammonia, AMP, etc.

Acrylates/Beheneth-25 Methacrylate Copolymer produces highly pseudoplastic solutions. It is characterized by a very high yield value, indicating a good ability to stabilize suspensions.

Stable viscosity over a broad pH range (5.5 -12), Acrylates/Beheneth-25 Methacrylate Copolymer exhibits good inorganic salt tolerance, excellent clarity of aqueous solutions, and synergistic rheological performance with surfactants. It is capable of forming high-viscosity and transparent gels with low HLB nonionics.

Thanks to its compatibility with hydrogen peroxide and other oxidizers, Acrylates/Beheneth-25 Methacrylate Copolymer is an excellent thickening agent for oxidative hair dye formulations. The polymer can be employed for thickening in hair gels, lotions, mousses, shampoos, perms, relaxers, bleaches, and other products requiring increased viscosity, as well as skin care products.
