Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate is a multifunctional ingredient that combines the effectiveness of azelaic acid with the moisturizing power of glycine. It is also known as Azeloglycine.

Thanks to noticeable antibacterial action, Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate reduces the growth of bacteria in the follicle (Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis). In addition, it exhibits keratolytic and comedolytic properties, restoring the disordered growth of the skin cells lining the follicle to normal.

Azeloglycine inhibits 5-alpha-reductase (which converts testosterone to dihydrotestosterone [DHT]), regulating sebum production, reducing excess oil on the face and scalp, and improving acne and androgenetic alopecia. Moreover, Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate is a potent free-radical scavenger that reduces inflammation, lessening skin redness, rosacea, and irritation.

Due to azelaic acid's tyrosinase-inhibiting activity, Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate reduces skin pigmentation. It is beneficial in applications for darker-skinned patients whose acne spots have left persistent brown marks or who have melasma.

Combined with conventional antibiotics like Tetracyclines in hydrogels, Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate potentiates their antibacterial and antibiofilm effects, reduces their degradation, and enhances penetration rate. Incorporated into formulas with Niacinamide, it reduces pro-inflammatory cytokines, leaving anti-inflammatory, anti-edema, and anti-rosacea effects, especially beneficial for acne-prone skin.
