INCI name

Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone is a clear to hazy, colorless to straw liquid. It is a polysiloxane polyalkyl polyether block copolymer designed for use as a silicone emulsifier for water-in-oil emulsions.

The chemical structure of Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone allows the incorporation of ingredients that would typically destabilize the emulsion. It is a potent water-in-oil emulsifier used in creams, lotions, and other personal care products.

In addition, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone may be used as a co-emulsifier in oil-in-water emulsions. It enables cold process manufacturing and emulsification for complex water-oil-water (W/O/W) systems.

Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone is used in various personal care formulations, and the required amounts depend on the type of application. It can be diluted with cool water and lower alcohols. It also aids the emulsification of paraffin and silicone fluids, fatty acid esters, and vegetable triglycerides (some of which are difficult to emulsify).

Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone is basically non-hazardous and has a very low order of toxicity, although contact with the skin or with the eyes may cause irritation.
