In fact, it has been cited in the literature for its thickening effects in a clear, acid-balanced shampoo (pH 5.7) containing sodium lauroyl sarcosinate.
PEG-150 Pentaerythrityl Tetrastearate provides a pleasant residual feel, tolerates electrolytes and salt, and does not need neutralization. It is used in bath and body washes, shampoos, liquid soaps, and gels. The concentration is in the 0.5-2% range. It has Japanese approval.
