Thalassine 2G is a Sea chamomile (Matricaria Maritima) extract rich in water-soluble fructo-oligosaccharides and phenolic compounds.

Matricaria Maritima grows on the dunes of Atlantic shores, surviving in extreme conditions and thus developing protective mechanisms and producing phenolic antioxidants. Matricaria Maritima Extract showed noticeable radical-scavenging, anti-glycation, and anti-inflammatory properties, useful for anti-aging, soothing, and protective skincare applications.

Natural oligosaccharides in Sea chamomile extract attract water molecules, enhancing skin moisture retention and providing optimal hydration, additional protection, and improved elasticity.

Hydro-ethanolic extract of Matricaria Maritima has been tested for its anti-melanogenic properties against B16 4A5 melanoma cells and showed excellent results in tyrosinase (enzyme involved in melanin production) inhibition, suggesting it as a skin whitening agent.

Matricaria Maritima Extract has been reported to have Acetylcholinesterase (enzyme responsible for the destruction of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine) inhibitory activity. Still, studies showed weak inhibitor activity, and the claim of relaxation of expression muscles with topical application was not confirmed.
