Polyglyceryl-3 Laurate is a monoester for laruic acid with a polyglycerol with three glycerin units. It is a clear to slightly hazy viscous liquid with a slight characteristic odor.

Polyglyceryl-3 Laurate is used as an emollient in many water-based personal care applications thanks to its water solubility and moisturizing and humectant properties. It provides gloss to the product and, in higher concentrations, can be used as a thickener. In some skin care applications it used as a emulsion stabilizer and nonionic oil-in-water emulsifier with HLB value of 11.

In hair care applications like shampoos and conditoners, Polyglyceryl-3 Laurate leaves hair hydrating effect, while improving texture, consistency, and glossiness of the product.

Incorporated in decorative cosmetics, Polyglyceryl-3 Laurate acts as a pigment dispersant and gloss enhancer. It is perfectly suitable for lip glosses. In sun care products, it helps to diprese inorganic sunscreen particles.

Polyglyceryl-3 Laurate is safe and rapidly biodegradable ester that also used as a food additive. It is stable to heat, and in a wide range of pH values.
