INCI name
Saccharomyces/Selenium Ferment
Origin
Biotechnological
Saccharomyces/Selenium Ferment is a biotechnological ingredient derived from the fermentation of living yeast cells in a Selenium ion-containing medium. It is a mineral-glycopeptides complex known under the trade name Acqua-Biomin® Selenium Y3.
Selenium is a primary antioxidant nutrient that helps to protect cell membranes and prevent free radical generation, thereby reducing the risk of cell damage. Through oxidation, selenium helps to preserve tissue elasticity and slow tissue aging and hardening.
Saccharomyces/Selenium Ferment can help treat and prevent dandruff (antifungal). In addition, it prevents Selenium deficiencies, which may lead to loose skin and premature aging.
Saccharomyces/Selenium Ferment is a safe ingredient for topical applications. It is non-irritating to the skin and eyes. However, it is considered a respiratory sensitizer.Synonyms
