Polyquaternium-51 is a biocompatible Butylmeth-acrylate-based polymer that is polymerized with 2-methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine (MPC), which has a similar structure as a human cell membrane phospholipids. It is a highly stable synthetic cell membrane-mimetic copolymer, a transparent liquid without color and odor, suitable for long-term storage.
Due to the high molecular weight (400,000-600,000D), Polyquaternium-51 does not accumulate in the body. Incorporated in personal care applications, it enhances the sensory profile, providing moist silkiness and smoothness on the skin.
Thanks to its high water-binding capacity, Polyquaternium-51 provides long-lasting moisturization without a sticky or greasy feel on the skin. It also suppresses surfactant irritancy.
Polyquaternium-51 is a versatile cosmetic ingredient used in skin, hair, and body care applications.
