Sodium Coco-Sulfate
Sodium Coco-Sulfate (CFAS) is a naturally derived anionic surfactant produced by sulfating coconut-derived fatty alcohols. As more people become familiar with its unique properties, it is beginning to be used in personal care applications.
Because it is compatible with alkanolamides, betaines, and other anionic surfactants, Sodium Coco-Sulfate can be used in formulations as the primary or secondary surfactant.
Sodium Coco-Sulfate belongs to the same family as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. Still, its presence of longer-chain hydrocarbons (C16 and C18) gives this material unique viscosity-building properties not found in SLS and other anionic surfactants commonly used in the personal care industry.
Available in various manageable forms, Sodium Coco-Sulfate can be incorporated into shampoos, body washes, liquid hand soaps, syndet or transparent soap bars, facial cleansers, shaving foams, bath soaps, and other personal care applications. It meets the current challenge and demand for naturally derived, low-cost, and safe-to-use ingredients. Products containing CFAS require less secondary surfactant,s resulting in a more cost-effective product.Synonyms
