Humulus Lupulus has been used as a liniment to treat rheumatism, arthritis, and skin diseases such as ringworm, sores, and venereal disease. The dried flowers were used to treat toothache pain, and the leaves yielded a brown dye for hair.
Historically, hops pillows were used to induce sleep. It is most widely known for its use in flavoring beer.
