Crepidiastrum Denticulatum Leaf/Stem Extract is a natural extract from a native plant (Yakushisou) that protects the skin against environmental damage and delays aging.
The increase in air pollutants has negative effects on the skin, such as atopic dermatitis, acne, skin pigmentation, and wrinkles. Air pollutants include particulate matter (PM), heavy metals, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) containing benzopyrene (BaP), and ultraviolet radiation (UVR).
Applied to the skin, Crepidiastrum Denticulatum Leaf/Stem Extract protects dermal cells from damaging factors' cytotoxic effects, decreasing oxidative stress and pro-inflammatory cytokines production. It reduces or delays cellular senescence through autophagy activation.
In vitro studies revealed that Crepidiastrum Denticulatum Leaf/Stem Extract protects against pollution-induced cytotoxicity, decreasing the expression of genes responsible for the production of inflammatory factors.
