GSP-T is a botanical complex derived from Pinot Noir grapes to protect the skin against oxidative stress. It is a blend of procyanidins from grape seeds (Vitis vinifera) and natural vitamin E (tocopherol).
Special molecular forms of oxygen called reactive oxygen species (ROS) are highly toxic to all biological systems. They arise whenever oxygen and water are present. What people normally do not know is that UV light is an extremely strong generator of ROS and thus causes premature skin aging, for example, while sunbathing. Compounds that can capture and neutralize ROS are called antioxidants.
These grape polyphenols are responsible for the well-known cardiovascular-health-promoting activity of red wine. They are among the best natural, water-soluble antioxidants. Vitamin E, on the other hand, is a highly efficient oil-soluble antioxidant. Moreover, procyanidins and vitamin E act synergistically to protect against ROS.
A natural blend of water- and oil-soluble antioxidants GSP-T protects the skin against oxidative injury. It can be combined with sunscreen to provide optimal skin protection and enhance UV tolerance.
